Full review on two of the most hit games of 2015

First off, i would like to start by mentioning which games are being taken into consideration here. Number one Metal Gear Solid 5, and number two The Witcher 3. Also i would like to state that though these games were released in 2015, but the fun simply never ends with one run through.. Ok maybe two run through’s for Metal Gear Solid 5( gonna be mentioning it as MGS5 from now on..), but so much as 32 run through’s for Withcher 3(Also W3..) cause that’s how many ending there are to this game..not to mention the DLC’s that have been added to this game..Let’s not stray from our topic, and start of with our number 1…

1. MGS5

A perfect stealth game for those who are into all that spy, shell corporation, gadgets and stuff.. Note that i mentioned perfect…why you ask, well that’s simply because it’s an open world game. From targeting soldiers in a checkpost to infiltrating bases…, from a stealth to a total combat mode..all wrapped up in a nice big package. Game’s creator and designer Hideo Kojima didn’t fail us with this game in a long running franchise of MGS. Story’s crazy and kinda believable (but then which game isn’t..). A total fun and awesome stealth immersive game with lot’s of action and drama, and as for the verdict here’s the scores..

Gameplay: 9/10

Story:7.5/10

2. Witcher 3

Moving on to our number two on our gamelist the W3.. Two words people..two words “Mind Blowing”.. The sheer amount of detail and complexity, the developers have provided to the story is simply amazing.. To tell you how this game works here’s a brief description…

Imagine you went to a wishing well, where you throw a coin only to find out that you have been granted a choice and that you need to make a decision, Increased memory or abundant wealth, what do you choose?

Case 1:

If you choose abundant wealth, then this version ends up with you being the king with hoards of wealth. Ministers working under you get jealous (as always..) and plot to overthrow you by means of bankruptcy. You miss the clear signs of their plot against you, and finally end up bankrupt. At this point you wish you had taken the memory power and avoid such a catastrophe. Alas!

Case 2:

On the other hand if you choose increased memory, then hilariously you end  up being one of the ministers trying to plot against the king and overthrow him. You do bankrupt him,  and lavishly wander his money off..Few weeks later the king sends his spies and get to know the culprits. The king being a merciful one offers to spare you your life provided you return him all his gold (i’m guessing you all know where this is headed..)

For those who haven’t played it..do yourself a favor and play it. That’s it i’m done explaining, the rest remains to be explored..

The developers CD Projekt Red have done a fanastic job in creating this astounding game. The verdict you ask, well..

Gameplay: 9.5/10

Story: 10/10

The creed known as Assassin’s over the years…

Where do i even begin trying to figure out one of the best game franchise ever made. Yes, that’s right it’s  the Assassins’s creed. The game that takes us to the world beyond the present.. not to the future but to the past. “How?”, You’ll have to play the game to find out. The game makes us experience the life of certain assassin characters who lived in the past and whose life have been inflicted by one way or the other by the Order known as the Templars. The game is all about the fight between these two factions. If you’ve managed to reached this line of the blog just s you know this blog is quite big, so buckle up.

“Fight about ??”. Well lets just say that both the factions would do anything, i literally mean anything.. to get their hands on an ancient powerful artifact called “Piece of Eden”. One who gets their hands on this artifact… you know where this line is headed. Now lets talk about some of these games especially what each of them excel in… A special note to the one who is reading this blog, i’m not gonna explain the story cause spoiler alert to those who haven’t played this series, and second of all “what’s wikipedia for?”.

First off Assassins creed 1, the inception point. You can’t say anything about this part cause it introduced us to the assassins for the first time. An assassin that goes by the name Altair. Story’s good, everything from wall climbing to killing a fellow Templar. The world is totally new to us… The first part is awesome.

Assassin’s creed 2, same concept. Ezio is the assassin you’r playing.  The highlight of this part is by the time you finish this one, you might think that you’ve completed the whole Assassins creed series. Seriously, the game’s that big. Apart from the length of this game, story stays strong. All in all this part is a good one too.

Assassin’s creed 3, yet another assassin’s life named Connor. This part tells us how a family could be divided based on factions. One thing about this part is that the fighting style has been improved to a whole new level. Connor’s fighting style is unmatched. From swords to axes, just give him a weapon and he’d bring it to life.

Coming over to Assassins creed 4, for those of you who haven’t experienced a pirate’s life, this gives you just that. A pirate assassin named Edward Kenway. Concept wise this game gets the star. From pirate ships battle to capturing forts, this game gives us a true feel.

Assassins creed Unity, the look and feel of this game will blow your mind, the graphics is unparalleled. You’r an Assassin named Arno Dorian. The features that this game gives, colored assassin robes, various weapons is marvelous. One great thing about this game is the complexity in choosing your killing routes. Whichever way you choose each of those will present you up with different consequences. “Right, right not going in too much detail..”.

Assassins creed Rogue, you remember the star i gave to Assassins creed 4, i snatch that and without any thought give it to this game. The story is… i got no words for it.. The story’s that great. You play an assassin named  Shay Patrick Cormac. Plot twist, this assassin shifts sides. That’s right, he becomes a Templar.

Coming to latest addition in the series Assassin’s creed Syndicate, following the life of twin assassin’s Jacob and Evie Frye. Combat style improved, same goes for the storytelling, this game also remains high in the list.

Of course there are a lot of other games in this series that i haven’t mentioned cause this blog is somewhat on the verge of becoming a novel. Let’s just say that you’ve got to try out the other parts. If you’r planning on trying out this game series all I’ve got to say is..

Welcome to the Assassin’s Creed.

Where the world is unreal…

I guess you might have already guessed what i would be talking about. The infamous unreal engine, one would say is probably one of the most powerful engines ever created, and is still staying that way. A lot of game projects that i worked on were done in unreal.

The thing that makes this engine special is its flexibility. This is proved by the fact that it uses blueprints as a communication medium. “Hmm! Blueprints whats that?” some would ask. Mentioning blueprints the first thing that strikes our mind is the blue sheet of paper that we see in cartoons…

Well our unreal engine’s blueprint is quite different. A simple explanation for what it would be is that it is a flowchart. A flowchart of things that need to be executed. For those of you who don’t know what a flowchart is, well consider it a sequence of things. So in essence we are telling the engine a sequence of thing to be executed. For those who find blueprints difficult, well there is another door which is available. A simple c++, easy right..

Moving on from the coding part, we go to the features that are available, this is the part which literally can’t be described..I guess it’d probably take up my storage space. That’s infinitely how much features are there. From creating a simple wall to a complex level for a character to move around, it’s pretty amazing working with this engine.

As for the feeling you get when you build a game, the thirst is unquenchable. There’s a whole lot of tutorials that would help you get from beginner to pro. That’s not all, the templates are by default available for you to start. If First person shooter is your type, BAM! you get a First Person Shooter template all geared and loaded up..

Most of the games that have been released and releasing are using this engine. I would say good choice game developers..

All i can say is that unreal engine is just the beginning….

An ode to Clancy

Sometimes people get so engrossed in games, that the minor details are generally unseen. One such encounter that i came up with is the Tom Clancy’s game franchise. We go from splinter cell, to ghost recon, to the division, but ignore the guy who made all such games possible. Atleast, i ignored it. It wasn’t until later that the term Tom Clancy struck my head. Just who is Tom Clancy, going by the themes it’s easy to guess could be a former agent of some sort. Turns out he’s an American novelist, gaining fame from his first book “The Hunt for Red October” and some of his other fictional works.

                                          

Tom Clancy co-founded Red storm entertainment who have been publishing the initial Tom Clancy series, later by Ubisoft. But why Clancy as a title, well the readers liked Clancy’s technical accuracy, the details in his story which eventually made him famous.

I for one felt the technical accuracy in his games, though i would have also loved to try the games that were developed by Read Storm entertainment. In any case i would like to appretiate the mentality with which Clancy wanted his readers to see from his point of view, not to mention taking his abilities from novel to gaming point of view.
